Who we are:

The Food Allergy Bakery (FAB) is the dedicated wheat and nut free kitchen of Carolina Cupcakery.  

What we do

We specialize in baking all natural, gluten and nut free cupcakes, cakes and baked goods. Extreme measures (such as a dedicated air handler) are taken to avoid food allergens. We do not knowingly sell products to other bakeries for resale.

Where we bake

Our bakery is located in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake Virginia, in a separate space adjoining Carolina Cupcakery. The FAB houses it’s own dedicated ingredients and supplies. Every product leaves the FAB kitchen in a sealed container. 

Where to find us

Our Chesapeake bakery provides the best item selection, in our freezer case. Cupcakes may be purchased throughout Hampton Roads at our retail store at Waterside, at CoVa Brew Company as well as Maggie McFlys at Lynnhaven Mall

Allergen aware options

Allergen Aware Products such as cupcakes, cookies, donuts (and more) are available in store daily on a first come, first served basis. Orders may be placed for any of these items with a minimum quantity.

Gluten/Nut-Free Products

ALL GLUTEN-FREE products are NUT FREE, baked in our dedicated kitchen. Since we bake from scratch, you can choose many of the flavors on our full list, with the exception of those containing peanuts, tree nuts or coconut. 

*The FDA classifies coconut as a tree nut, therefore no coconut products are permitted in the facility.

Gluten- Nut- Free  Contains no wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or shellfish

Gluten- Nut- Free Vegan Contains no animal products (no milk or eggs), wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or shellfish

Crazy 8 Contains none of the top 8 allergens including dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or shellfish

No Kosher options

Gluten/Nut-Free + Vegan + Sugar-Free

Sugar-Free Products

Sugar free products DO contain allergens, including dairy, eggs and tree nut flours so they are only baked in our traditional kitchen. The sugar substitute is erythritol and stevia.

Low Carb Keto Products

Low Carb Keto products DO contain allergens, including dairy, eggs and tree nut flours and they are baked in our traditional kitchen. The sugar substitute is erythritol and stevia. All low carb keto products are wheat free, but they are NOT considered gluten free. Due to their reliance on tree nut flours they are baked in our regular kitchen. People with severe allergies should not consider this a safe gluten free option.

Vegan Cupcakes

Vegan products contain no animal products such as egg, milk and milk products and are baked in our traditional kitchen. Vegan cupcakes DO contain food allergens including wheat. If you have wheat or nut allergies, please be sure to choose gluten- nut- free vegan products.

Order Crazy 8 to manage multiple allergies

Crazy 8 products are 100% free of the top 8 allergens. Baked in a dedicated kitchen these products contain NO; wheat, milk, egg, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or shellfish. All packaging is sealed and carefully labeled.

Crazy 8 is the best option if you’re taking treats to a class party 🙂
